Backcountry Jetboating

Backcountry Jetboating

Adventure awaits around every corner on this exhilarating jetboat ride into the wilds of Alaska.  Jetboats are shallow draft 4×4’s of the river allowing access to wilderness areas of the Twentymile River / 20 Mile River where glaciers flow from snowcapped mountains and stunning scenery surrounds.  Chugach National Forest permits allow us to go ashore at several locations like Sockeye, Silver and King Salmon streams,  beaver damns,  river confluences,  Moose browsing areas and remote lakes.

Navigating the scenic Twentymile River, Carmen Creek and Glacier River provides constant up close and in your face views of the Twenty Mile River Valley and glaciated Chugach National Forest. Along the way eagles, moose, beaver, porcupine and bears share nature’s corridor on the braided, rock and log strewn river sections as the river narrows, climbs, twists and turns into the mountains.

Skilled Coast Guard licensed captain utilize powerful and maneuverable 6 passenger / 6 PACK  jetboats equipped with convertible tops for rainy days. They share their backcountry knowledge, unique lifestyle and friendly nature along the way. Nearly exclusive Forest Service permits allow us limited un-crowded access to the wilderness. We provide you with waterproof raingear and personal flotation devices / PFD s.  Please remember your warm layers, hats, gloves, small packs, cameras with case and sunglasses. Jetboating is a thrilling jetboaty Alaskan escapade taking you into the backcountry Alaska is famous for.

Meets at 20 Mile River Bridge, Mile Marker 80.7 of the Seward Highway

The backcountry jet tour was fantastic! It was a personal tour for our family of four where we didn’t see a road, car or another person! We were in the backcountry in no time and it was spectacular!

We did a jet boat trip with Andy to Spencer Glacier the following day to see the ice field and glacier up close. Very professional, fun, and memorable. Thanks, Andy! Highly recommend!
