Turnagain Arm ATV Ride:
Alaska's Muddy Tideland Adventure

Muddy Tidelands ATV Adventure

Smooth High Visibility Riding Alaska

Get ready for an exhilarating ATV ride on the muddy tidelands of Turnagain Arm. Unlike typical dusty trails, these wet sands offer a smooth, high-visibility riding experience. Join a guided tour to explore Alaska’s pioneering spirit.

Prepare to “mud it up” across streams and mudflats on this advanced ride. It demands both aggressiveness and self-control, rated “High” difficulty due to tricky mud crossings in tidal areas. You’ll traverse grassy tidelands and meadows, keeping an eye out for moose, coyote, and waterfalls. Seattle Creek is our ultimate destination, with routes and timing based on the tides. The sandy flats ensure a smoother, relatively dust-free experience with clear visibility.

Exclusive Turnagain Arm Tour

Rides start and finish at the Skookum Adventure Basecamp, located at Mile 75 Seward Highway (the same parking lot as the ‘Welcome to Kenai Peninsula’ sign near Ingram Creek). Dress in warm clothing that can get dirty to complement our provided rain gear and boot selection. Remember, the harder you ride, the muddier you get!

Morning rides are from 11 AM to 2 PM, and Afternoon rides are from 3 PM to 6 PM, with exact times varying based on the tide schedule. Participants must sign a Liability Waiver and ATV rental damage agreement. This adventure is operated under Alaska DNR and Alaska Fish & Game Permits.

My group and I went ATV’ing with Alaska Backcountry Access. Andy was phenomenal. He clearly knew what he was talking about, taught us, and set us on our way to one of the coolest experiences of our lives. I highly recommend this service!

Booked a whole days worth of atv with them and it was the highlight of our trip. Great people who are very responsive, walk through all of the best sights and activities to go to, and offer incredible hospitality. Cannot recommend them more
