Snowshoe, ski trek or cross-country ski along the coast of spectacular Prince William Sound in the remote town of Whittier. This glacial fjord has steep mountains all around, blue/green ocean and wooded rolling hills.
Along the way visit and photograph Alaska’s’ wildlife like bears, moose, musk ox, caribou, owls, fox, lynx and more at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
Adventure through scenic Portage Valley, past World War II installations and through a unique 2 mile long road/railroad one way tunnel. The sleepy “remote” town of Whittier is as quirky as the scenery is beautiful. We typically host lunch at a locals restaurant or picnic on the trial.
Wildlife like eagles, seabirds, seals and occasionally sea otter and sea lions spot the coastline in this temperate rain forest. There is a variety of terrain from mellow trails to steep hills with amazing views!
