Jetboat to the wilds of Alaska for remote lake kayaking and opportunities to look for wildlife on a wilderness adventure. Navigate the scenic corridor of Twentymile, Glacier and Carmen Rivers into the backcountry. Along the way observe beaver logs, salmon streams and eagles in their natural environment.
The river narrows, climbs and offers twists and turns on the way to Carmen Lake our ultimate remote destination. Step onto the shore of Carmen Lake to take in your surroundings. After a snack of energy bars and water begin kayaking in the protected area on stable and comfortable single passenger sit-on-top style Ocean Kayaks. Unique Chugach National Forest permits allow kayak access to the real Alaska from our beach side location.
Waterfalls cascade from the mountain sides as you kayak across glacial fed Carmen Lake. Avalanche slide paths sloping from the mountains create snow caves as they melt away. Look for wildlife like eagles, ducks, moose and bears. Paddle to a distant lookout for views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
Excitement lies around every corner as we return by jet boat the 11 miles of remote, braided and log strewn channels. The Twentymile River system is managed for its wild characteristics and has a limit on the number of visitors so book early.
